Ingredients
  

For the Cupcakes
  • cups all-purpose flour 150g
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened (113g)
  • ¾ cup sugar 150g
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk 120ml
For the Buttercream Frosting
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened (225g)
  • cups powdered sugar 300g
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream
  • Yellow food coloring as needed
For Decorating
  • Mini marshmallows for ears
  • Black decorating gel or edible food marker for face
  • Red cupcake liners optional

Method
 

Step 1: Bake the cupcakes
  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a cupcake tray with paper liners.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Beat the sugar and butter in a separate bowl until they are light and creamy. Mix in vanilla after adding the eggs one at a time.
  3. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth, but don’t overmix.
  4. Fill each cupcake liner about ¾ full. A toothpick should come out clean after 16 to 18 minutes of baking. Let the cupcakes cool completely.

Step 2: Make the frosting
  1. In a bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar slowly, then vanilla and milk. Beat until light and fluffy.
  2. Add yellow food coloring, a drop at a time, until you get the perfect Pooh yellow.

Step 3: Decorate
  1. Frost the cupcakes with yellow buttercream using a piping bag or spatula. Place two small marshmallows on each cupcake as ears after halving them.
  2. Use edible gel or a black food marker to draw Pooh’s eyes, nose, and a sweet little smile. Place them in red cupcake liners if you want that extra “Pooh shirt” look!
