Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup raw rice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons oil

Method
 

Step 1: Soak the rice
  1. Wash the rice well and soak it in water with salt for 6–8 hours. Drain and spread it out to dry completely.

Step 2: Roast the rice
  1. Heat a heavy-bottomed pan. Add a little oil, then roast the rice in small batches until the grains begin to puff and turn light.

Step 3: Cool and store
  1. To cool fully, spread the puffed rice out on a tray. Once cooled, store it in an airtight container to maintain crispness.
