Step 1: Prepare the rice
- Rinse the rice under cold water until it runs clear. This helps remove excess starch and keeps the rice fluffy after cooking.

Step 2: Cook the rice
- In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil. Sauté the minced garlic for one minute. Add the rice, cumin, water or broth, salt, and pepper and stir.

Step 3: Simmer until done
- Bring the mixture to a boil. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 18–20 minutes until rice is fully cooked.

Step 4: Add lime and cilantro
- Turn off the heat. Fluff the rice with a fork, then stir in lime juice and chopped cilantro for freshness and flavor.

Step 5: Serve warm
- Serve the seasoned rice alongside burritos, tacos, or grilled meats. It also works perfectly as a base for burrito bowls.
