  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Method
 

Step 1: Prepare the rice
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until it runs clear. This helps remove excess starch and keeps the rice fluffy after cooking.

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil. Sauté the minced garlic for one minute. Add the rice, cumin, water or broth, salt, and pepper and stir.

  1. Bring the mixture to a boil. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 18–20 minutes until rice is fully cooked.

  1. Turn off the heat. Fluff the rice with a fork, then stir in lime juice and chopped cilantro for freshness and flavor.
