  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon dry milk powder
  • 1 packet 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1⅓ cups warm water 110°F
  • Extra flour for kneading
  • Cornmeal optional, for dusting

Method
 

Step 1: Activate the Yeast
  1. Combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water in a large bowl. After giving it a gentle stir, leave it for five to ten minutes, or until it starts to foam.

Step 2: Mix the Dough
  1. Add olive oil, salt, and 3 cups of flour to the bowl. Mix with a wooden spoon or use a dough hook until it starts coming together. If it’s too sticky, add a bit more flour at a time.

Step 3: Knead the Dough
  1. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 7–8 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer for this step.

  1. Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover it with a towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 5: Shape the Dough
  1. Divide the dough into two equal portions after punching it down. Form each amount into a round pizza. Sprinkle your baking sheet or stone with cornmeal and place the dough on it.

  1. Brush the crust with olive oil, add your desired toppings, and bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes
