Step 1: Prepare the meat mixture
- Brown the ground beef in a pan over medium heat. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix in refried beans and stir well until combined.

Step 2: Fill the tortillas
- Spoon a small amount of the beef-bean mixture onto one half of each tortilla. Add half a slice of American cheese on top.

Step 3: Fold and seal
- Gently press the tortillas to seal the edges after folding them in half. Be careful not to overfill to avoid spilling while frying.

Step 4: Fry the tacos
- Heat oil in a pan. Fry each taco for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 5: Add toppings
- Gently open each taco and add shredded lettuce and a drizzle of taco sauce. Serve hot for the best flavor.
