Step 1: Prepare the dough
- Heat the water, butter, sugar, and salt in a pot until they boil. Reduce the heat and add flour. Stir quickly until a dough forms and leaves the sides of the pan.
Step 2: Add eggs and vanilla
- Let the dough cool slightly. Add eggs one by one and mix well until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
Step 3: Heat oil
- Heat the oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Make sure the oil is hot enough before frying, around 350°F.
Step 4: Pipe and fry churros
- Spoon dough into a star-nozzled piping bag. Pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.
Step 5: Coat with cinnamon sugar
- Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl. Roll each churro in this mixture while still warm for the perfect coating.
Step 6: Fill or serve
- Suppose you want them like Jack in the Box, pipe sweet cream or caramel inside using a small nozzle. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Serve these churros fresh and warm with a rich chocolate or caramel dipping sauce.
