Step 1: Prepare The Pan
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper to make removal easy later.

Step 2: Make The Base Mixture
- In a bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well until a crumbly dough forms.

Step 3: Add The Good Stuff
- Stir in oats, coconut, and chopped nuts. Mix until everything is evenly combined and forms a thick, coarse mixture.

Step 4: Layer And Add Jam
- Press two-thirds of the oat mixture into the prepared pan. Spread fruit preserves evenly over the top. Over the jam layer, crumble the leftover oat mixture.

Step 5: Bake And Cool
- Bake until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Allow it to cool completely on a cooling rack before cutting into squares or bars.
