Step 1: Prepare the Bread
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Evenly distribute cubed day-old bread throughout the dish.
Step 2: Make the Custard
- In a bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth and well combined.
Step 3: Soak the Bread
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes. Press the bread gently to soak up the liquid. Let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step 4: Add Butter and Toppings
- Drizzle melted butter over the top. Sprinkle raisins and brown sugar if desired.
Step 5: Bake the Pudding
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the pudding for 40–45 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
Notes
Let the pudding cool completely before storing. Store it in a sealed container in the fridge for a maximum of 4 days.
