Ingredients

For the dough
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • as needed Cooking spray for spraying the churro bites before air frying
For the coating
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar additional for coating

Method

Preparation
  1. In a pot, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a dough forms.
  3. Allow to cool slightly, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Use a piping bag to pipe small strips of dough onto parchment paper.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Lightly spray the churro bites with cooking spray.
Cooking
  1. Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. In a small bowl, mix additional cinnamon and sugar.
  3. Toss the churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while still warm.
  4. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Pipe evenly sized bites for even cooking. Do not crowd the air fryer. Work quickly when coating so the sugar adheres well. For additional variety, consider adding nutmeg or cardamom to the dough, or serve with dipping sauces.
